The '79/'80 Honda CR 250 swingarm is fabricated from 6061
aircraft aluminum. To eliminate stress, all material is brought to a fully annealed "T0" condition prior to forming. Once formed and welded, the swingarms are fixtured and heat-treated to the "T6" condition for maximum strength. The swingarms are then bright dipped and/or anodized per customer request.
In most cases the '79 owners want their swingarm brought up to
'80 specifications which involves additional length and is easily accomodated. Other modifications involving shock location or nonstandard lengths can usually be accomodated. Both swingarms incorporate a readily available contemporary chain guard and utilize the standard swingarm bearings.
